LUCKY SIN

Cold turkey week

I wanna thank mami for the astounding energy, effort & persistence put into ensuring me one hell of a birthday celebration last weekend. Although it hasn't been that long, she's made quite an impression on me.

Take for example, after a really really long day, she still has enough in her to get me down to kb for a birthday surprise (i've got 5 months to get u back for this one baby). Ended up mingling & sipping on wine all night...not forgetting my "first time handling a snake".

A great conversation piece.

It's cold turkey week, less drinks more "exercise". Although i did come across a preety nice bottle of wine a few nights back at Z's, some product of portugal.

Very appealing taste

I wanna congratulate "Yan & Terrence" on their wedding which i managed to attend last night. Haven't seen her in months but was glad to see her so happy when i did.

Didn't stay too long due to overexhaustion from lack of sleep & work. I think i can manage time for blogging once a week rather than a daily basis. So till next week folks...have a gud one.

Miri Jazz Fest 07

Been meaning to post this since sunday but haven't the energy or patience. Just so fucking worn out from the weekend. Started off on friday, roadtrip down miri straight after work with Arif behind the wheel, me, Adi & Z in the back.

Sorted out the accomodations on arrival before rushing off to the festival. 8 bands from US, Europe, Australasia, Caribbean and Asia played over a two night duration on two separate stages in the Pavilion, ParkCity Everly Hotel.

Excellent food and beverage vendors all over the place. Although heinekens were at $10 a pop & anything else alcoholic in a cup was $12. Did a hell lot of running around & drinking which resulted in an overexhausted state by the end of the first night. I witnessed 2 fucking excellent bands, Lluis Coloma from Spain (video 1, video 2) & The Dirty Dozen Brass Band from New Orleans (video 1).

By the end of the first night's festival, we were all too worn out for any clubbing activity so it was back to the hotel. It was hard getting up the next day but somehow my biological clock got me up & about before any of the others did. I caught Arif "doing his thang" in the subconcious.

1 pm, seriously not getting up

Spent the whole day roaming around parkson & lost some crappy bet over bowling with Z. After dropping off Adi at the festival by 8, the rest of us made it to dinner. The cafe was packed with "big ass lobsters" and "weird shell fish" in tanks. We left for some place called submarine for a few beers after dinner. They've got some preety odd names for the local shops.

On the verge of passing out @ submarine

Me & Z managed to catch the last performance at the festival while looking for Adi. After the festival, we left for CB. Had a few jugs of liquor & mingled a little before leaving for the hilltop. Great view, just too bad we were all too "wasted" to enjoy it.

Surviving @ CB

Things were slower the next day, tried laying off the booze & ran some errands. Came up with a couple of "stuff to do" in boulevard. Spent a couple of hours down the presumed overcrowded beach before heading home. Otw back, came across some "hostile fire" & a "spontaneous sax player". Odd combination not by choice.

Tripping nuts @ the beach

Damn tired

The closer i got home the more i craved for my bed & mami. All in all gud trip. Good news is how the festival's an annual event. That should be interesting.
