Festivities = Another excuse to intoxicate self.
2 Comments Ejaculated by Lucky Sin on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 11:37 AM.Selamat Hari Raya to all muslim readers out there. This year I've substituted raya-ing with heavy drinking sessions. Surprisingly most of the guys were available for most sessions. Even managed to catch up with an old classmate two nights back whom last time i checked was out by the 5th or so beer. Now tables have turned and I'm having problems keeping up by the 12th or so.
It's funny how you tend to be bolder when you're intoxicated, like take for instance this frog below that for no apparent reason is playing dead in my palm. Was gonna pop it into my mouth before coming across some indomee instead..

Since we're on the subject of dogs, i was rather surprised to catch this lil guy at my aunts after lunch the other day. It has a habit of chewing feet.
It feels good to get out after the past few weeks of hibernating indoors. Went for some grub at the mall Saturday evening and the place was packed with gremlins (a term derived from the movie randomly used to describe repulsively attired under aged teens). Had a good drinking session later that night with almost everyone present. Although i do kinda miss belading, Charlie's upgraded his menu even.
Been listening to Marilyn Manson's Eat Me Drink Me album a lot lately. Kinda hooked on it, specially this video for some apparent reason.

Let's start off with the weekend.. Went down to miri with Wanlongkok & Karacoma for a gig in some pub on saturday. It's very appealing when u can drink while passing judgement on some 20 or so bands without getting hassled. Don't really remember much from the gig since i was pissed half the time, but managed to get some pics & videos..
Overall it was a damn good gig, specially through beer goggles. Stuck around a bit longer to catch a few other good bands before finally getting some grub. The best part of miri has got to be the food. Regardless of time or place, chances are it's good grub. Passed out not so long after getting back to the hotel.
Couldn't get inked the following day due to overpricing on a piece i wanted. So as an alternative we tracked down a booze spot for an early start to drinking which led to getting back later then expected. Hangover at work the day after was totally shit. It's times like these when u start asking "why the fuck am i torturing myself?", which is roughly 36hrs before the next craving kicks in.
Adi made us watch this preety cool clip last night, Vadrum meets Super Mario Bros. Bout time somebody covered this shit. Gonna make a move now, it's way past office hours and i'm starving.

Managed to squeeze some free time in between work & play to catch up on some movies & albums. These are the two 'must watch' & 'must listen', movie & album respectively.
Apocalypto Set in the Mayan civilization where a hunter's life is disrupted & brought into some crazy fucked up world where death awaits. He makes a desperate break to return home and to ultimately save his way of life. Numerous decapitation, slaughter, trippy insights into the mayan culture & hell of a ride on the emotional rollercoaster.
Check out the trailer "here".
LambOfGod - SacramentOne fucking excellent, new & improved album. Lots of guitar solo's, faster drumming & faster high-pitch screeching vocals. 11 tracks from this 4th full length album & im hooked on at least 5 of em.
Preview some tracks "here"
'Redneck' video "here"
I've been preety stressed out lately from work & play. This kinda shit rarely happens but when it does, the intrusion sticks with me for quite a while. Another excuse for a drink? Maybe..

Track Listing:
The first time i saw track #3 'when u were young' on mtv i was all 'damn.. here's something u dont see everyday' and the song was preety catchy despite being in a genre (indie disco like) not within my fav list but surely crawling its way up the list. I'm currently stuck on track #8 'Bones', catchy man... fucking catchy. Overall i'd say it's a preety ok album although not memorable, then again how many new albums produced these days are anyways?

The songs are heavy and pounding with the expected Maiden gallop, Bruce's voice cuts through and the riff's and solos storm. They have proved again that they are the masters of tuneful, complex and intelligent metal that is well composed. They have delivered the anti war/religion message in an incredibly neutral, kinda provoking, intelligent and inoffensive way when you come across the lyrics.

Apparently i'm told it's some rule i'd to follow which i was totally unaware of or even informed when i first enrolled for this crap. Bottom line it's literally bullshit scamming to get extra since the school's getting broke.
Later on i hung out a lil bit at school to wait for sum ppl to come round and pay me their debt.. but upon arrival im told payment will be made in near future? Personally i dont mind if ppl pay on time or later but as long as a date is given to me, but since now im gonna really be fucking broke i would well fuckin appreciate it if all debts be cleared regardless if u have to sell ur liver to come up with the dough.
This must be karma's comeback for the que i broke in the pool house a few days back. Crap. Well anyways, i got a new album today..
Dragon Force - Inhuman rampage.I have only one comment for this album as well as the band. I prefer this band and most of the tracks on this album over Dream Theater. Especially the singer. ha ha.

he who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man
0 Comments Ejaculated by Lucky Sin on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 2:06 AM.Other then the usual attendance down at the pool house & drinking all night, i did get a new album & caught up on two movies. Firstly the movies,
"Take the lead" - its preety ok i guess, but i did prefer the soundtrack over the movie cz i had trouble trying to distinguish the similarities from other ballroom dancing movies.
"History of violence" - i bought this by mistake & it stays to remind me what mistakes are.
As for the album, it's Avenged Sevenfold's latest piece of work "City of Evil".
First of all City Of Evil has a totally different sound to it than the the two previous A7X albums. The screaming from Shadow has toned down a hell lot. Very much inspired by '80s shred guitar, Sinister Gates and Zacky Vengeance have crafted some very intricate guitar parts to compliment Shadow's voice. Duel guitar work, sweeping arpeggiated chords, acoustic/spanish guitar breakdowns, and screaming leads can all happen on one song.Labels: Movie Review, Music Review
Late last night I picked up the new Tool album yesterday "10,000 days" & all i can say is it's a fucking piece of art. Tracks "Jambi" & "Rosetta Stoned" so far tops my list as favourites. And there's a track "The Pot" that's just trippy ass shit. These guys are preety much still in the same direction although they've managed to work past their 7min mark on the tracks. I read off some review that this album is all about killing, being killed or dying? i didn't quite catch that but after going through it a couple of times it seems like the perfect sountrack for a good slay.
That new movie with Bruce Willis in it "Lucky No Slevin", was one of those movies with a very clever plot. It's a movie by a director who knows how to get our attention and a writer with a knack for smart aleck dialogue. It's also violent, cynical and sometimes a little nasty. Yet the style redeems it. Instead of repelling us, this movie keeps sucking us in, establishing a series of games that like the triple-reverse twists in "Pulp Fiction" or "The Usual Suspects" are fun to watch and never quite what they seem.
Orthodox gangsters, triple-split screens, flashbacks and flash-forwards and flash-sideways, it's got it all. First half i was alil judgemental on how cliche the movie was moving but, by the second half i as surprised & as enthusiastic as a 14yr old in a cheerleader's locker room.
I'm turning into a poolhall junkie. Spent the whole day literally gambling with Harun. Back and forth hustling that came down to a square zero on dough and a fucking breathing problem from all the second hand smoke going around. Now i have no beef with people who smoke considering how i used to juggle a pack a day. But eversince kicking the habit i'm getting less fond of the smell somehow.

I know this album's like 2yrs old but still, i never did get any of the previous one's so getting "the best of" album was the perfect choice. Besides i do like the killer lyrics & the unique way they sound. 19 tracks of real gud stuff.

This dude's product is the only Chinese music i ever got into, ever since the 1st album. It sounds preety much like the other albums maybe a lil more guitars in this one. If u like weird chinese hiphop with very melodic tunes then u'd probably wont be annoyed with his stuff. 12 repetitive like tracks, well at least thats how it sounds to me.
Something unexpected happened when i was out getting gas. It came up to $14 bucks so i gave the attendant $104 bucks thinking id make it a solid $90 on the change. I don't know why i took off before i got my change back and forgot bout it for like an hour. No i wasn't drunk, maybe jz tired from all the swimming. Anyways luckily i went to get a drink from the grocery store & realized i was short 90 bucks. Went back to the gas station & surprisingly the same attendant who was there came up to me and gave me back my change. I felt a lil bad thinkin how i wouldnt be as honest if i was in his shoes but glad that i was made aware honest ppl still exist.
Checked out "Election" this new hongkong movie bout triad head election. Resembles the godfather in sumways. Overall kinda slow but preety ok written script & directing. Lot of big shot actors in this one.

Downloaded this shareware 'imtoo dvd ripper' then had to get the crack off www.crack.ms. Spent a couple of mins getting it to work it. Very useful stuff, well for me, i'm converting VOB files to MPEG cz sumhow i can't watch my "8hr jap comedy series" on the PowerDVD player like i do with other DVD movies. There's heaps of free stuff on the net nowadays i swear it's preety much covered my computer related entertainment. I dont wanna be all hypocritic & start bitching bout how i dont give a shit bout how bad piracy and file sharing programs are in like the thousands of reasons given by critics or rightful Owners of the stolen properties, yet i do care bout the issue i jz can't be bothered to do anything bout it. As far as compassion goes, in the wise words of Mr T "I pity the fool!".
Layan'ed "Ice age 2" still cant decide which is better the 1st or the 2nd. The lil squirrel lookalike with the acorn still cracks me up. I recalled watching the first one back on campus with my ex & we couldn't stop laughing. Ahh the simpler earlier days where everything was less complicated & responsibilities close to none. Nothing gets easier with age except stress.
