Now that exams are over with holidays starting, i practically have a lot of time on my hands but nothing worthwhile to do. This sucks because there's nothing i hate more then wasting time.
Late last night I picked up the new Tool album yesterday "10,000 days" & all i can say is it's a fucking piece of art. Tracks "Jambi" & "Rosetta Stoned" so far tops my list as favourites. And there's a track "The Pot" that's just trippy ass shit.
These guys are preety much still in the same direction although they've managed to work past their 7min mark on the tracks. I read off some review that this album is all about killing, being killed or dying? i didn't quite catch that but after going through it a couple of times it seems like the perfect sountrack for a good slay.
That new movie with Bruce Willis in it "Lucky No Slevin", was one of those movies with a very clever plot. It's a movie by a director who knows how to get our attention and a writer with a knack for smart aleck dialogue. It's also violent, cynical and sometimes a little nasty. Yet the style redeems it. Instead of repelling us, this movie keeps sucking us in, establishing a series of games that like the triple-reverse twists in "Pulp Fiction" or "The Usual Suspects" are fun to watch and never quite what they seem.
Orthodox gangsters, triple-split screens, flashbacks and flash-forwards and flash-sideways, it's got it all. First half i was alil judgemental on how cliche the movie was moving but, by the second half i as surprised & as enthusiastic as a 14yr old in a cheerleader's locker room.
I'm turning into a poolhall junkie. Spent the whole day literally gambling with Harun. Back and forth hustling that came down to a square zero on dough and a fucking breathing problem from all the second hand smoke going around. Now i have no beef with people who smoke considering how i used to juggle a pack a day. But eversince kicking the habit i'm getting less fond of the smell somehow.
